There is no obvious parking location to pull up and check in, so we pulled up in front of the office. Many campgrounds look scruffy with people’s items all over.My only negative comment, and it’s not really negative, is the arrivals. We used the pool, which was nice, a few more chairs would have been good, but this did not affect our use. There’s a communal gazebo by the play area, which is reservable if you are having a group event, such as kids birthday party.I love that the green area in the centre is not allowed to have items kept on it, all your stuff is to be kept on your own site. Each camp spot seems a good size. The campground itself is on the smaller side, which is nice. We have a 28ft trailer, which fitted nicely in spot 12. Tony(our park supervisor) was happy to answer all our questions and could be found easily throughout the park(he’s busy! making sure the park runs beautifully!)Our family enjoyed our 8 days stay and will return for sure…. Netflix=No problems. The campground is nestled neatly between the country side and Parksville. Speaking of entertainment, the WiFi towers(scattered through the park) offer a 60mbps download and 8mbps upload. Nice service. There were movies for the kids shown outdoors on a Friday, nice touch. The pool and ease of access to the river from the campground makes it nice choices to have. The store offer a good complement of goodies and assorted ice creams! You can also pay and drop off your empty propane with one of the friendly staff at the store, and it’ll be brought back to your site filled. If you pitch a tent, an air mattress is a must. The pool and play areas have been completely redesigned and look great. The sites are using small rocks throughout the park and all sites. Sewer connection is nice, easy and within most trailer’s connections. No longer are you taking pine needles, dead grass and mud inside the trailer. First, we got to our spot with all utilities connections in a clean design that can accommodate all electrical connections. WOW! What can I say? The campground has been totally redesigned with families in mind. I can’t say enough good things about our experiences here. Everything from the laundry services to the washrooms has been upgraded. You can swim, fish, jump off the rocks or just lounge about. As always the beach at the river is the highlight. There are new playgrounds kids love and the outdate to the pool is great! The garbage facilities are also new and upgraded, clean and well-maintained, and they don’t hiss at you when you go to toss a bag in the dumpster like the previous owner. They also have cool four wheeled bike rentals that everyone loved. They had hayrides, an outdoor movie, a picnic and bike decorating while we were there, which is great for kids. The store is well stocked from treats to food stuffs through to any supplies you might need, and the prices are more than fair…like, seriously CHEAP. They always greet you with a friendly “Good morning!” and are pleasant to chat with. The staff are all amazing super friendly, helpful and go above and beyond. We wish you an enjoyable camping experience in Tasmania, the opportunity to meet great people within our parks, both guests and owners, and above all have a wonderful time. This park is fantastic! We used to stay here before the new management took over and the differences are night and day. Opportunities exist to stay in a wide range of accommodations ranging from free camping sites to park motels. Throughout Tassie will find a wide range of different locations and experiences. Camping is an affordable and fun way to truly experience Tasmania. Standard facilities are usually supplied and Tasmanian tourism and travel operators are renowned for their friendliness and willingness to help. Most sites also offer self-contained cabins, on-site vans, four-wheel drive, caravans, or some other form of hard accommodation for varying degrees of luxury. Campsites are tent friendly with lots of space for you to pitch your tent on grass plots, a change from gravel options available in some countries. Camping is a very popular family activity in Tasmania, with commercial caravan parks in Tasmania plentiful, affordable, and generally in good condition. The hardest part is deciding where to start, once you have travelled to Tasmania. Stunning coastal reserves and unspoiled beaches, mountains, crystal clear lakes, and rolling hills are available all across the island state of Australia, Tasmania, or Tassie as it is often referred to by locals. Tasmania’s natural beauty is hard to match and there are few better ways to enjoy everything that Tasmania has to offer than by taking a camping holiday in your own car, a rental car, motorhome, campervan, or by using public transport.
